Chuckle Soaps are happy little soaps made to encourage big and little people to wash their hands.
The first Chuckle Soap was made in December 2020 and was initially meant for local friends and family.
It started as a November lock down activity to keep the kids busy. We found toys that the children had discarded and dropped them into soaps moulds - there were those who turned to grappling with sourdough bread in 2020 and there were many ernestly growing sunflowers - in our hose hold we were making fun soaps! And the soaps turned out remarkably well!! Quite out of the blue a business plan started bubbling…..
I took some photographs and one Face Book post later - 200 soaps were sold on the day we launched! A week later having found us via friends of friends sharing that initial post, The Telegraph had ‘discovered” Chuckle Soaps and featured us in their Last minute Christmas gift guide! The rest as they says, is history. By Christmas only a few weeks later 1,000’s of soaps had been shipped to as far flung shores as Australia and including - Switzerland, Italy, USA, and Costa Rica!
Three years on and Chuckle Soaps can be found in world-famous retailers, including Anthropologie, The Royal shops, The Tank Museum and Rick Stein, as well as the most glorious independent stores up and down the UK.
My eldest son is severly allergic to over 25 things so it has always been important to us make soaps that are gentle on sensitive skin. I am proud to say that we get so many messages from people with sensitive skin saying it is the only soaps they or their loved ones can use. With this in mind all soaps are are SLS free (so not abrasive at all, the glycerine base ensures it is soothing and moisturising in fact), we fragrance the soaps with the most beautiful 100% organic lavender essential oil which smells absolutely glorious. All our soaps are vegan, cruelty free and made just a as they were the first day by hand in Hampshire. The toys we use are up-cycled as much as possible, which is why we offer a POT LUCK selection.
It’s also why we encourage you to follow us on Instagram as the true variety of soaps can be seen. We try to post these and when they come bubbling out the soap studio.

Our team includes both men and women, boys and girls - however we are proud to celebrate and promote our business as founded by a woman so that other men, women boys and girls are aware - because if you see it you can believe in it and we want girls to know they absolutely CAN be founders too and we want boys to grow up knowing this too. My two little boys certainly do!
If one soap generates ten smiles in its washing life time, we are totally over the moon that in our first three years we have generated well over 1 million smiles. And THAT is what its ALL ABOUT!!
